Poem: A Picture Of You

 

My mind has a picture of you,
A portrait of unconditional love,
As beautiful as a dove.

My mind has a picture of you,
An image of affection,
An epitome of perfection.

My mind has a picture of you,
That exhibits gentleness,
That is sealed with kindness.

My mind has a picture of you,
Of a serene, soothing shade,
And a promise to never fade.

My mind has a picture of you,
As my protection, as my guide,
At every step, at every stride.

My mind has a picture of you,
As my rainbow, as my light,
Relieving me from my fright.

My mind has a picture of you,
Hugging me, kissing my forehead,
Singing a lullaby when I go to bed.

My mind has a picture of you,
Totally shattered and broken,
Leaving me wretched;
And heartbroken!
