Poem: Ya Allah!

Ya Allah! Make me strong,
I’m walking on a track that’s wrong.
Ya Allah! Guide me towards the right,
Give me wisdom and awaken my sight.

Ya Allah! I have disappointed you once more,
My conscience feels wounded and sore.
Ya Allah! My death follows me everywhere,
The blazing fire of hell I won’t be able to bear.

Ya Allah! This burden lies heavily on my chest,
I have miserably failed my test.
Ya Allah! You know I am so weak,
Your mercy and grace I seek.

Ya Allah! Don’t make me desire what’s not mine,
Show me the light, show me some sign.
Ya Allah! Please save me from your wrath,
Help me to follow the right path!

Love is…

When I was small, I thought love was red roses, expensive gifts and candlelit dinners at private beaches. I imagined love as something grand and romantic and larger than life maybe. But today, I know love is those little things he does for you that make you feel wanted.

Love is when he lets you eat his favourite piece of meat. Love is when he orders Cheesy Fries because he knows you love them. Love is when he makes you feel like Miss Universe even when you know you are ordinary-looking. Love is when you eat his lunch after a long, tiring day even though he is hungry, but you know he would understand your hunger pangs!  Love is sharing your secrets with him and knowing that you can trust him. Love is feeling safe when you are with him.

Love is when he gives you all his attention. Love is when he is honest with you about everything whether you like it or not! Love is not only holding hands or watching the sunset or saying “I love you!” Love is stressful and annoying. It is found in those complicated emotions that drag you to the edge, tearing you apart, making you think if what you are going through is really worth it. Love is not perfect. It makes lots of mistakes!

Love is broken promises and forgotten words. Love is not always forever. Sometimes love is two people walking on the same road but eventually moving in different directions. Sometimes, it is just “enjoy while it lasts” kind of thing! Love is heart-break and weeping eyes!

Love is when you both have practically nothing to talk yet you are comfortable in that silence. Love is when one person loses his temper, and the other is quiet. Love is patience. Love is happily wearing clothes of his choice.

Love is also getting irritated with each other. Love is those regular fights and arguments that make you either cry or scream at him. Love is when you hate him but still choose to love him. Love is friendship on fire. Love is when you talk to Allah Almighty about him with tears in your eyes and pray for his success and happiness. Love is when you want to perform Hajj holding his hand. Love is when you wish to unite with him in Jannah.

Poem: Ramadan Is Here

Ramadan is here for the sad heart,
Ramadan is a chance for a fresh start.
A medicine for those absorbed in grief,
A time to renew your faith and belief.

When sins mount leaving you guilty,
When your bad deeds make you filthy.
Ramadan comes as a source of relief,
It calms the heart and gives you peace.

When the heart is broken and soul is sad,
When your insides refuse to feel glad.
Ramadan comes to rescue you from pain,
Through sincere prayers forgiveness you attain.

This heart of mine is shattered, Ya Allah,
Everyday in your praise I recite Subhan Allah.
Open for me gates of mercy, Ya Allah,
I am sinner, a repenting Muslimah!

Poem: The Kiss

Fragile she was but he was strong,
Upon his tune her heart sang a song.
Heart beats were loud as they stood still,
In the distant world she was on a hill.

Closer they came in the silence of the noon,
In the broad daylight she saw the smiling moon.
Imprisoned in his arms trembling in fear,
She felt very nervous to have him so near.

At his touch her body went numb,
In her mind she heard a constant hum.
Magical moment and desires intense,
They robbed the mind of every sense.

His mouth first grazed her cheek,
That intimate feeling made her weak.
Slowly and calmly he kissed her lips,
Into a trance they both had slipped.

She closed her eyes and drifted far away,
As his lips continued the foreplay.
His hug was tight making her warm,
So powerful was that emotional storm!

The world went spinning before her eyes,
His kiss had her blank and hypnotized.
Breathless she was and so was he,
But both of them were full of glee!

Poem: She

Smiling face,
Curly brown hair.
Sporty look,
Skin so fair.

Hard working she is,
Always on her toes.
A gentle heart,
In her ways it shows.

Determined to grow,
Willing to learn.
Bright and shiny,
Sometimes stern.

Open to learning,
Helpful and kind.
Talkative and cheerful,
With an intelligent mind!

Wise in her thoughts,
A kid from outside.
Her dark edge,
She tries to hide.

Great to work with,
She knows how to lead.
Whenever you need her,
She’s ready to pay heed!

Poem: Afraid

I thrive in darkness,
I am afraid of light.
I dwell in sadness,
Joys give me fright.

I am a dead flower,
Withered in the rain.
In the lonely hours,
Immune to my pain.

Sitting on the rooftop,
I stare at the sky.
Waiting for time to stop,
So, in peace I could cry!

An unknown tomorrow,
A game life has planned.
Floating in my sorrow,
I wait for my end!

Poem: When Death Arrives

Life echoes in my mind,
Pretends to be faithful and kind.
Tears roll down my cheeks,
When life makes me feel so weak.

I laugh aloud and then I cry,
Why do my tears feel dry?
Alone in the dark I gaze at the moon,
Waiting for my death to arrive soon.

Covered in white sheets and flowers red,
In silent comfort I lay in bed.
Around me is horror and cries of fear,
As the angel of death comes near.

Farewell to the world, now satisfied;
Finally a place where I can hide,
This temporary world I leave behind,
Was hopelessly tired of the daily grind!
