Poem: That’s Who I Am

Eyjafjallajökull volcano erupting, Fimmvörðuháls area, Iceland, 7th of April 2010

I laugh out loud when I’m sad,
My eyes well with tears when I’m mad.
I’m bright and shiny when I’m broken,
In crowds I’m shy, but also outspoken.
A volcano erupts inside me everyday,
To the world I seem happy and gay.
When I’m depressed I shut the world out,
Why should I tell them what my life is all about?
In my thoughts my world is beautiful,
Who cares if my reality is dreadful!
I have imagination, and I love to dream,
I have high hopes and they all gleam!
